Ruffing was able to get me in right away and gave me a loaner to use. They charged 165 to diagnose the car. The receptionist lady named Becky told me that they don’t make valve covers for my type of car anymore, so they just put the leaky one back on. They still did my spark plugs and one coil which tacked on another 255. The total was 421 bucks for my four spark plugs and one coil, AND they advised me to not drive it because of the leaky valve cover….:( Called Autoselect in Appleton, they found a valve cover and did it for me the next day for 190 bucks. UPDATE: Joe the owner gave me a call and personally apologized, and said he’s working on getting everyone thoroughly trained. He said the lady was wrong in telling me that the valve cover couldn’t be found. He said they could have done that for 160 (a little cheaper than Autoselect) and he offered me some credit for the inconvenience. He’s doing what is right for his business and I really appreciate that!

Life is good when you have people you can trust to do good work and treat you fairly. Our granddaughter – who is a college student living at school far from home - had an issue with her car which she brought to Ruffing Automotive. Long story short, Joe at Ruffing Automotive went beyond our expectations by personally attending to her car on her return from Christmas break. It gives us peace of mind knowing that our granddaughter’s car will be taken care of by Ruffing. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their vehicles. They are honest, do what they say they are going to do and stand behind their work. Quality. 5 out of 5 stars. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic and this is definitely one of them.

Did the diagnostics myself and found out I needed a new alternator. Found Ruffing Automotive on RepairPal. They honored the price (which was the cheapest since I did the diagnostic). The Corolla runs great now, gave me a loaner vehicle while repairs were happening. I would recommend on future repairs.

I made an appointment request on line on a Sunday afternoon for my disabled vehicle. That Sunday night I was contacted by Joe (working on a Sunday night?) and he advised me that he would contact me first thing Monday morning. I was stressing as not only was my car not driveable, I needed a tow. Joe contacted me before 800a.m. and a tow truck was here by 9a. Exceptional. Joe kept in touch with me the entire day with honest repair quotes and recommendations. Never pushy. What I thought was real classy was that Joe contacted me the next day to thank me for using Ruffing Auto. In this day and age I think customer service is a lost talent. Joe changed my mind on this. 5 star quality customer service. I will use them again. You should too,

They got me in right away when everyone else was 10 to 14 days out, Diagnosed the problem correctly and fixed it at a reasonable price. Staff is friendly and helpful. I will be back!
